77 MULTICRAB - TECHNICAL INFORMATION - 2023 MULTICRAB DESIGN RULES RULES ON WIND BRACING OTHER USES COMMON USES: FAÇADE SCAFFOLDING Wind bracing is a crucial factor for the general stability of the scaffolding. It is important to make sure that wind bracing is ensured in all three planes. Frequency should be determined according to the structural detailing and forces the structure is subjected to. 1 - Wind bracing with runs e.g.: Façade with SAD safety guardrail 2 - Overall wind bracing e.g.: Façade with guardrails with rails, midrails LONGITUDINAL PLANE ON STREET SIDE 1 - Wind bracing with runs: The longitudinal diagonal braces should be placed one per floor every four spans. The lower scaffolding with five spans must have at least one diagonal brace per floor. 2 - overall wind bracing: The longitudinal diagonal braces should be placed every 3 floors. A stringer configuration of the diagonal braces is preferable so that they work with traction load and compressive load. HORIZONTAL PLANE •If all the levels are fully fitted with platforms, they ensure horizontal wind bracing (valid for a façade ≤ 1 m wide), otherwise place horizontal diagonal braces in each grid section on each level every 4.00 m in height. These diagonal braces are made from tubes and couplers. TRANSVERSE PLANE •Stability in the transverse plane is achieved by anchors on what already exists. When the scaffolding structure is not anchored the building (self-supporting or volume structures), you should design and put in place a specific wind bracing system that must be designed by a competent person, in accordance with best trade practice and the relevant regulations. The wind bracing diagonal braces must be installed as assembly takes place, as soon as the floor is ready to receive it. Note: overall wind bracing or with runs can be equipped regardless of the lateral protection retained (SAD or with rails)
