FALSEWORK - TECHNICAL INFORMATION- 2023 242 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ASSEMBLY INSPECTION OF THE EQUIPMENT LOAD DISTRIBUTION - BEARING SURFACE Before starting assembling: •check that the equipment is in good condition, •do not use any components that are suspect (parts that are bent, squashed, loose, etc.). •for towers, refuse all parts that are not from Entrepose Échafaudages falsework. Mixing parts from different sources is prohibited. ENSURE COLLECTIVE PROTECTION When designing the assembly and dismantling of falsework and formwork, collective protection must be prioritised. When in certain circumstances this cannot be fully or partially implemented, personal worker protection must be ensured with a fall prevention system. STRIKING The support for the building structure should be removed by lowering the screw-jack heads to avoid destabilising the towers. All the screw jacks should be unscrewed together to prevent the load being taken by jacks that have not yet been unscrewed. FORMWORK The formwork calculation must take into account the effects of continuity. The continuity of a beam on three supports for instance distributes the loads on the supports differently from standard geometric distribution. STABILITY DURING ASSEMBLY The stability of the falsework must be checked while it is being assembled and dismantled, or intermediately before pouring, when the formwork is exposed to the wind pressure and there is no concrete load to act as ballast. When the falsework has been assembled, a formal acceptance report should be issued. RECOMMENDATIONS •Attach the wedges together and attach the baseplates to the wedges with nails. •Always use an adjustable baseplate or footplate between each standard and the load spreader. •Where the scaffold will be erected on natural ground, this must be levelled and compacted. Excessive stacking of wedges Bearing over a gutter Bearing on hollow block For the stability of the falsework, particular attention must be paid to the type of ground and its strength.
